My vision behind Businessempiremag.com has always been to use the resources that I have to help other build successful companies. What I had was prior experience in business and a large list of contacts that I have made over the years.

Businesses fail because of poor planning and financial management, even I have nearly fell victim to those causes. Having business mentors that had already experienced what I was going through made a huge difference not only improving my situation but giving me the skills and confidence I needed to be better in the future.

I knew it was only a matter of time before I found a way to give our members help financially and from mentors. I have developed both personal and business relationships with my mentors and frequently speak with them. It was during a conversation with one of my mentors that I realized the best way to help is financially and giving members help from entrepreneurs that have already achieved a great level of success.

$10,000 could go a long way when it is used properly. I really wanted to keep the concept of our community helping each other succeed even when it came to winning $10,000. There will be a panel of business experts that will help the BEM team judge entrants but our community will also get to vote as well. Members that win the $10,000 will not be required to give up any equity in the company. Members will also be able to spend the money however they like but we will give winners business mentors to work with. The same member will not be able to win the $10,000 more than one time.

I only made the $10,000 available to members because I feel that still being able to receive feedback and advice presents a win-win situation for all involved. In the future we will either raise the amount we award or allow more members the chance to win every month.
